Sugar Processing Research Institute, Inc. (S.P.R.I.) is an independent non-profit research institute supported by its international members who are international sugarcane and sugar beet processors, sugar refineries, suppliers to the sugar industry and companies that use sugar or sugar by-products. The Institute is housed at the Southern Regional Research Center of the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, in New Orleans, LA USA. Because of this locality and its various collaborations, SPRI has the ability to work extensively with USDA and other scientists from agricultural sciences to processing technology.
